IRCReport started once upon a time as IRCNews and prior to that it went through various different names all with the basic same goal, to report on not just the IRCReportniche IRC news but all the news, as time passed IRCNews and then later IRCReport expanded beyond just offering news but also offering files and resources. IRCReport's founder X-Ception is a fan of opensource so near every part of the site is powered by open source technology including the site and its extensions.

Yaaic Screenshots released

Just announced by twitter is the release of a few screenshots of Yaaic's latest alpha build, the Android based client is looking tighter with each new update. We reported not that long ago regarding a development update from the small and tight little client and it would appear that development is going in the right direction based both the screenshots and video released released in the last week or so. ADIIRC: Polish and Chinese translations

  ADIIRC has posted up an announcement introducing two new translations, the new translations which were contributed by the ADIIRC community are Polish and Chinese. Mibbit maps functional

Mibbit has put up on the official blog the return of the embeddable google maps feature which allows users to quickly share locations and view them right within the client, the feature was removed for a short time while improvements were made to the translation system as well as introducing support for new features - after which the maps system is back up and running. It would appear that savIRC has bitten the dust and is no more, the homepage for the client displays a cancelled page implying such which would mean yet another promising client fades away. I have no official confirmation of the client dieing off but based on what's on the homepage that would be the case. savIRC is a TCL multi-platform client which showed a lot of promise but much like most clients that start out tends to suffer due to either lack of time, interest, resources or fan base. Phantomal of SolidIRC has put up an announcement regarding some stability issues, the issues which they point to being related to the latest InspIRCd release, 1.2.5 crashing daily. It would appear the inspire devs have already fixed the issue but as yet have not validated the issue critical enough to issue a release. phantomal has put a comment on the site and verified that the previous information is not 100% correct, the fix is under a testing period to ensure it is fixed once and for all.
